Thank you! Little transfer by little, I've been able to claw things back onto other drives. Still a pain to have to spend lots of time trying to resolve it, but at least I'm not going to have to spend the thousands it would cost to go through data recovery specialists!

Sim Town and Sim Ant were my jam! Loved those games so much!

Man, I know that feeling--my collision code had to be completely rewritten when it was causing issues!

These sorts of UI features seem simple, but I always find implementing them to be surprisingly time-consuming! #indiegames #gamedev #PICO8

Thank you! I'm looking forward to polishing the visuals of this a lot more once all the systems are in place!

Here's a little video exploring the test rooms which shows off almost everything implemented so far. Today I added textboxes, and linked up the movement upgrades with these collectable objects! #indiegames #gamedev #PICO8

Appreciate the offer mate, but I've got this all mapped out as a solo project :)

One more little feature—these platforms switch on and off periodically. I think I now have everything I need to start making some compelling platforming challenges! #indiegames #PICO8 #gamedev

Again, the gif doesn't capture flickering properly, but now there's a side-shooting laser! I also redid some acceleration code to make the little guy less skittery (so you don't slide off platforms as easily!) #indiegames #gamedev #PICO8

Thanks! I've never played it, but I definitely had that game style (and protagonist!) in mind!

Yessss I'm going to be able to make so many cool challenges with this stuff! #gamedev #indiedev #PICO8

The gif doesn't capture the flickering properly, but the effect looks pretty decent in actual gameplay😅I think there's going to be enough hazards available to make some really fiendish challenges in this! #gamedev #indiegames #PICO8

Before I took a break from working on this at the end of November, the last thing I implemented was a generic object handler. It makes it easy to add all sorts of interesting objects to rooms! I'm calling these 'wandering sparks'. #gamedev #PICO8 #indiegames

I'd sign up in a heartbeat, Hypnospace was an amazing experience, and I'm very keen to see more stuff with a similar vibe!

I love me some lofi, vaporwave, all that sort of stuff, and the ecosystem for those genres has just been broken as of 2024. It's so upsetting.
