same, a learning experience to empathise with nonvisual perceptions of abstract art i guess... that was too many essay words in one sentence but idk how else to say "art hoe rights for people with screen readers!!!!!!!!!"

ooo handy i went & turned it on

with alt text for accessibility i've read that its bad to do that bc it all turns into word soup for a person using a screen reader, 1-2 sentences "as if you're describing the image over the phone" is enough. which is helpful

i kept confusing it with "image ID's" people would add to my art sometimes, which i /think/ were more for the purposes of finding the art through searches? or not? i say this bc they'd always be written in a super detailed way down to like every colour and number of every detail

im glad that this is a crazy magical cathorse and not a real one bc i think i drew it slightly too small. but when it's cathorse, it's okay... in other news i really love the way the (out of production) magma sketchbook absorbs ink and i am going to go into serious withdrawal when this one runs out

jsyk my favourite answer to the question of "how do kemonomimis coexist with animals though" will always be "every species is a little bit kemono'd"

neither his outfit makes sense bc i mostly freehanded it with a pen but thats what the zine is for. i couldnt decide whether i want the metal heart to be a collar (more s&m) or a neckline (more sexy exposed peekaboo vibe) maybe its a part of him that makes its way into any shape he takes

never finished the proper drawing and i dont think anyone would gaf the anti-trinket mythological implications of this drawing anyway. i think it was more of a "born to touch grass, forced away from it until you forget what grass feels like el problema es el capitalismo" vent

i have the constitution of a wet deer and the paranoid delusions of someone with paranoid delusions and the superstitious nature of a european with ocd, so i dont know why im so attracted to horror of that sort skjdfdhsf

i mostly applied it to folk horror film (midsommar and wicker man and whatnot) but since he talks a lot about Greek tragedies I also applied it to Yorgos Lathimos films (K.O. Sacred Deer, Poor Things) so its less about clowns and more about sacrificing scapegoats to restore order lol

oh yeah the book i was mostly going by wrt to masters is Rene Girard's "Violence and the Sacred", i used it so much i took a pdf of it to the print shop to get it printed and spiralbound lol... bro weaves theories that can be applied to so much

CLOWN SOCIETIES... RITUAL CLOWNS.. a buffet of implications for the queer academic, thank you. it ties into a lot of stuff ive read for my masters to do with designated scapegoats and sacrifices and other repression-relievers. the countlessly peer-reviewed "its a sex thing" of it all...

recently i happened to be researching clowns re: jesters & was contemplating sharing this wrt clown sexual motifs: a history tidbit regarding cultural origins that i saw for the first time when i was reading up (i'd never Once heard the words "ritual clown" in my life but makes sense!)
