We sure about that, Wikipedia?

@rajandelman.bsky.social Oh, man, it's happening for you.

You know what I absolutely didn't need? An empowered Dopey.

The fact that THE WALL never followed TOMMY's footsteps to Broadway bespeaks either a spectacular failure of vision or a Herculean restraint on Roger Waters's part.

I've mowed the lawn, taken a trip to the dump, watched a full concert from Pink Floyd's 1980 THE WALL tour on YouTube and napped for an hour (in the middle of THE WALL), so don't tell me I don't get Father's Day.

CBS followed this with a story about one of their reporters reluctantly getting a dog only because his wife wanted one, only to become insanely devoted to it. It ended by saying that he might have to do the unthinkable: say he's sorry! (Ha ha ha!) But it's not Mother's Day, so he won't! (HA HA HA!)

CBS News tonight: "There's a heat advisory... in Alaska? Ha ha ha!"

Watching a news story about missiles being launched into Tel Aviv in response to Israel attacking Iran, and I've gotta say that the phrase "Dozens were killed in the retaliatory strike" has some powerful "It all started when he hit me back" energy.

We've just arrived at Family Fun Night for M's elementary school. First two songs the DJ is blasting: "Margaritaville" and "HOT TO GO!"

Late '90s, my improv group was waiting at the bar before a private gig at a steakhouse in Indianapolis when a bus disgorged a bunch of ragged-looking dudes. The last one, tall and lanky, went to the host, clapped his hands and declared "Let's rock!" I said, "Did the Black Crowes just walk by us?"

It's very easy to say "Oh, who cares, the Grammys are bullshit anyway," but let's be clear that this is the story that the country-music industry/community wants to tell about itself. And so it matters very much.

It should also be noted: There's a very strong argument to be made that, say, Morgan Wallen doesn't qualify as "traditional country." I'm sure he'll be against this development once he realizes.

I always find it interesting to watch what songs everyone's tributes coalesce around whenever a beloved singer or musician dies. With Brian Wilson, it's turning out to be "God Only Knows," which is interesting because he didn't sing lead on it (though he did nearly everything else).

The vintage Beach Boys clips seen in all the Brian Wilson tributes and reports over the last day had been a bracing reminder that Mike Love has never looked a day younger than 42.

I have to say, I am very much enjoying NORTH OF NORTH on Netflix! (with apologies to @joshgondelman.bsky.social for vibe-ganking)

Pool season is back, baby! (I fished a dead bunny out of ours last night.)
