I also really want to make a presentation about hygiene through history, esp with focus on public bathhouses, because it infuriates me when fantasy shows and ttrpgs have it wrong. don't push your party into shared pool while they're still covered in blood and grime!

I really needed that win, because my previous con talk in november happened on horrible adhd day and I kinda fumbled it even tho it was something I've already presented before (people liked it, but it was below my standards). I'm thinking of maybe making a sequel, about paint pigments.

this muslim neighbourhood was great to live nearby, and seriously shaped my expectation on typical cultural makeup of local community, and also the way I eat

my experience in religious diversity was rather atypical, since I grew up in mostly atheist house (very anti-church grandparents, my mom wasnt baptised), we knew all kinds of people, then we moved right next to muslim municipality, and then I started hanging out with buddhist teachers

oh, thank gods for Hare Krishna people, their presence on alt/hippie events in 90s was the only thing that saved my teenage vegetarian ass from starving

(suddenly I have flashback to this time some girls invited me to play house with them when I was five but they were playing christian house and I had no idea how to play this and everything become very awkward)

ohno (part of me is curious what bible says about it, but part of me doesnt wanna know lol) ngl, as someone who didnt grew up in christian household, I often forget that other people did and it causes so many instances of me being very confused about other people's state of mind

popculture can be so confusing. like, all I know about "grace and frankie" was coming from tumblr and I was 1701% sure it's a lesbian show!

I can see how one can make this assumption going only by names, it makes sense. but as someone who knows a bit about both games, I'm really amused by this crossover

it legit is! at the very least, it makes them more wary going public, and at best, it can make them think. in both cases, primary objective of removing/diminishing nazi presence from public spaces is achieved

I remember when polish pope died, my city imposed like.. few (3? 5?) days total ban on alcohol sale, apparently "to prevent disruptions of ceremonies" as if this would helped (I saw so many people carrying copius amount of bottles just before. it was so weird)

'let's put regional products mon stamps' ok I follow this idea. but unlike in normal country, I'm then hit in the face with a stamp bearing the picture of piece of raw meat. what.

this thread made me go look at what polish post os currently offering and uhm. the variety is... incredibly weird (some usual flora/fauna/polish sportsmen/scientist, mixed with strange assortment of occasions, and some... things that made me go 'what')

I was once commissioned by a friend to paint a copy of this painting, and tracking references was A Journey. thankfully she was ok with me taking some artistic freedom with my version
