SCOTUS has given the Trump administration carte blanche.
To insist due process is required is (bloody obvious) also redundant.
To make due process effective; when officials actively choose to ignore that requirement, means someone would need to police the police.

If we actually want the left to win—to hold institutional power and define normative values—we have to want to be hegemonic. We have to want to define values which seem normatively appropriate and which normal people can fully embrace.
The desire to be marginal or special is antithetical to power.

She wasn't that surprised if she made sure to film it rather than dropping the phone in shock or even concern for the child.

Depends on how you look at it. If the left hadn't alienated a huge percentage of the public forcing extremist views on people who can barely read and write; probably the left would have won the election and Trump would've gone to the old people's home.

And yet anyone who has been on the other side of privilege knows that one thing is the law, and quite another is what actually happens in small towns where people know they can get away with it. Tale as old as the wild west, Roman empire, cavemen...

It would be so much simpler to fairly tax the billionaires, like when THE SUPER RICH WERE TAXED to pay for the NEW DEAL

That's what all those people working in administration are for, to wade through the documents.

No pragmatism for you then.

You may have come to it now, but a lot of us have avoided the USA for many years due to the lack of gun control and health care. No one SANE wants to travel to a place where they might go bankrupt being treated for a gratuitous gunshot wound.

They've already failed to impeach Trump multiple times. Why would another succeed? I think he's right if it comes to it people will have to rise up for real.

Your democrat federal congressmen have zero power until the numbers move; aside from maybe filibustering. The republican ones are towing the line that was voted for. A lot of people seem not to have understood what they were voting for? Not like Trump wasn't openly calling voters scum and suckers..

Unfortunately that stance doesn't resolve the divide that must be bridged to pull votes back to the left. It's only possible to move the needle by dismantling the arguments that support the opposition. That you might not understand that proves how educational institutions failed you.

Why is it always about money?
Why not just use your platform to get out the message about what the candidate believes in?

But also: rather than go shout at or threaten representatives who may believe public service is their vocation albeit need to learn how to be more effective; become more directly involved in being the change rather than expecting someone else to fix everything? As clearly just voting isn't enough.

If the want to practice debate skills and how to build an argument absolutely. If they aren't able to dismantle such arguments head on they aren't learning life skills let alone getting value for what the education costs.

Me I've developed HUGE FOMO for the news in the last weeks.
So much being thrown down every day; even from morning to evening sometimes full circles...
Don't think I've ever watched so many news shows I. A row on a daily basis at any point before. Not even during COVID.

What freedom of speech on campuses? My impression watching from afar is it's been many years since there was freedom of speech given all the speakers, comedians and similar acts banned or 'cancelled' & debates cancelled. Seems only one point of view -not necessarily an informed one- was allowed?

I've seen several segments about the Brown professor deported after she admitted she is a Hezbollah supporter.
She admitted it unprompted in an interview with immigration authorities prior to receiving re-entry permission.
Does anyone actually think there is a case supporting her right to stay?

Personally I appreciate my personal space and not having people breathe on my neck on an escalator or push into my back while shopping.

Does anyone know did Kamil actually promote Hamas? Because in many countries promotion or exaltation of a terrorist organisation is a criminal offence. Is that not the case in the USA?

Not about everything. They keep saying Elon will get bored of doge and go back to running his businesses.
Does anyone honestly think he manages a y of his businesses? He pays people to do that.
He spends his time leveraging his money to maximise his position. He won't get bored of doge

Trump is buddy buddy with the Saudi prince.
How long do you think it will be before journalists are no longer physical integrity safe, let alone employed.
What does the world think they were discussing in their private slumber party in SA?

Rubio looks like the child of an abusive father: trying to make himself small so the anger wave doesn't turn against him and silently watching the other kid take the abuse because he's to spineless to stand up for what is right.

100% with you, was tired of being called pessimistic or unrealistic while all along everyone around me denied the very overtly clear evidence of what was happening to destroy democracy in the USA.

By asking her to show her math and describe her cards at every turn Kamila was continually perceived as on the back foot by the right leaning public. Trump literally stood and mumble danced for hours in his appearances and voters didn't care. They just didn't want the left. Sad for the USA.
