This is the spirit of Los Angeles. This is California. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. #FreeDavidEndRaids

Downtown Los Angeles, 1937

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem called Los Angeles a “city of criminals” and not a city of immigrants. But like its name, Los Angeles is a city of angels. We protect and look out for one another, especially the most vulnerable.

I’ve binged every Tony Gilroy interview I can find, and this is one of the better ones FOR SURE. Love these gals!

"Republicans are weird" remains a devastating, indisputably-true statement, and everyone who isn't part of MAGA should say it all the time. It works in every situation, even outside "culture war" stuff. Sure, there are strong merits to USAID, FEMA, CFPB—but also, destroying them is *weird*.

They deserved better

At last, after decades of false advertising, Doctor Who? is finally accurate

Ncuti Gatwa welcome to the club of Doctor Who leads that deserved so much more </3

So glad we jumped on it. If you love movies and the process of making them, this is a must see show. Hilarious and will make you squirm with cringe so many times it’s kind of impressive. It’s a beautiful show too, looks great!

Marvel could pay for my healthcare for the rest of my life for a fraction of 1% of profit from Spider-Man Noir, a character whose original comics I edited. For Peter David to die in medical debt, co-creator of Spider-Man 2099 and writer of countless seminal Hulk and X-Factor comics—that's a disgrace

Love to see it

I'm going to say some shit during this Star Wars Andor video essay.

Imagine if Bail didn’t die on Alderaan Leia just comes strolling up like “Hey, so Ben is dead, but good news—we have another Jedi. Isn’t that convenient? This is my new friend, Luke Skywalker!” And Bail is just like—

Andor into Rogue One works SOOOOOOOOO well, holy shit

It’s absolutely wild how much Andor has re-written my perspective of Rogue One on a re-watch to see it as Cassian’a story with Jyn Erso as the newest guest character. Effectively switched him to the lead role, truly perspective altering and very impressive.

Well, Sinners is exceptional. Beautiful and incredibly crafted. First film since my father passed away that I truly wish, with all my heart, he lived to see. Right up his alley. Believe the hype.

Some wonderful praise from a dear friend of the show! If you're not already checking out Brandon's substack, he has some great and insightful things to say on all things pop culture!

If you haven’t, you have GOT to check this out!

Don’t really have the words to properly explain just how good Andor is, still. This latest batch was easily the heaviest TV I’ve watched in a while, and it’s a Disney Star Wars show?!? Gilroy and company did the impossible, it’s just beautiful, and so very sad.

Last of Us continues to rock and roll all night, while also partying every day. Dina is a charisma bomb, Isabela Merced is crushing it on unheard levels. Ellie and Dina are so cute together, just a lovely (and brutal) season of television.

I have now finished the incredible first season of @dndarkpodcast.bsky.social These guys delivered something awesome and I was hooked the entire time. So much so that I genuinely cried at the end. I don’t have the words but I tried

Having Polygon and Giant Bomb both gutted on the same day is truly heartbreaking. Wild how Vox and Fandom have let go of so many talented people. I hope those laid off can find work at a place that actually respects them

Every Star Wars podcast worth their salt is, in some way, riffing off of @forcecenterpod.bsky.social. That's why when I saw that they are less than 20 subscribers away from 10,000 on YouTube, I had to throw a shout-out. Anyway, subscribe to the GOATs: www.youtube.com/@ForceCenter

Go fuck, and I cannot stress this enough, yourself

It’s absolutely vital that we support independent media. Please seek out sites like @aftermath.site, @404media.co, @remapradio.bsky.social, and @rascalnews.bsky.social and, if you can, sign up for a paid subscription. Pick up a paid sub for your favourite podcast or newsletter. Media is dying.

Fucking loved Thunderbolts*!!! Yeah it has plenty of your usual Marvel banter but it’s also a deeply beautiful and poignant story about depression and not letting yourself succumb to the VOID (mentally and physically.) A tremendous and unexpected final act. Yelena forever!

Buying a name means nothing without the laborers that made it great. Our industry is run by cowards, vultures and union busters and I am so sorry to all of the talented workers affected by this bullshit move. kotaku.com/polygon-sold...

Unbelievable… I -literally- grew up with Giantbomb. My entire adult life has been in service to watching GB every single day. There will never be a place like it ever again. Tragic is an understatement.

Hey. This, is bad. I worked for Valnet for a few years and they will take this company and turn it into another content machine that pays freelancers nothing. I’m so sorry to the people that have lost their jobs.

Go, Canada!

And a great time was had by all

One more thought on last week’s #Andor. On any other “Star Wars” show - or franchise show - Brasso would have been “exposition dude”, the guy Cassian can talk to on Ferrix to deliver back story. But, in the background, never in focus, Brasso became the #Andor’s beating heart.

We’re expecting a Senate vote later this week on a bipartisan resolution that could block Trump’s tariffs. Tell your senators to draw the line on executive overreach and end Trump’s bogus emergency. Democrats: indivisible.org/resource/cal... GOP: indivisible.org/resource/cal...
