about to watch Liverpool successfully do what we tried with Merino because they use midfielders with guile and technique between the lines. Merino is kind of tall and not much else when going forward in this setup while Decs passing is closer to Elneny than many would be comfortable admitting.

Mikel Merino is doing great as a midfielder and is non existent as a striker. the moments where he is a good midfielder involve one of the midfielders making way for him because he simply declining to occupy areas Kai at least occupies. experiment over imo.
