Here’s how to fix this. Just call the show “why are Canadians so pissed off at us, at NPR, at NYT, and anyone else who thinks it’s a fun thought experiment to annex our country?” Then let Canadians call in and tell you why they’re mad. And make the Americans listen. Don’t ever say “51st state.”

Hey CBC, don’t do this. It’s not a “proposal.” Having different wording on your website won’t diminish the harm done by having Canada’s national broadcaster treat this as a serious conversation (see below for how it’s being portrayed on the relatively sane CPAC…). Pull out of this disaster now.

Lethbridge was out today at the constituency office of Minister Nathan Neudorf. There were plenty of of pink slips, a couple of songs and some loud voices.

You’ve been murdered. Who do you want on the case?

Just look at these paragraphs from the AP story. Hegseth called Brown unqualified solely because he's Black. Then they fired him... and replaced him with a white guy so indisputably unqualified that he requires a Presidential waiver. This is what "merit" means to them. apnews.com/article/trum...

Private delivery of health care costs more than public delivery. This is the latest evidence on top of decades of public policy evidence. Public health care is the most expensive way to deliver health services …except for all the others.

Gary the Canadian Adventure Cat is not impressed.

Meanwhile, @nytimes.com is indulging Canschluss fan fiction when in actual fact there would be nothing but bodies and a generation of insurgency. The NYT beclowns itself. Article also features some idiot Democrat who refers to “Ontario Province,” so you know they’ve got the real experts on tap.

trump: we are going to conquer canada and make it a state canadian hockey fans: fine, we will boo your anthem at games media: these two actions are exactly the same level of bad

The ADL is conspicuously quiet, now aren’t they.

Have a great Family Day weekend, Alberta, and let us hold the Reason for the Season in our hearts: Don Getty’s son’s cocaine arrest, and the need for an Alberta Premier to keep the social conservative flank of his caucus happy.

“Booing is your patriotic duty right now. It’s not very Canadian, and that’s the point. We’ve let this whole polite northerner shtick exist for too long…You know what rude people get? Service. They squeak, but they also get the oil.” #TeamCanada www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/artic...

Me: uncritical patriotism is a dangerous tool that can be abused to erase historic atrocities and give license for future cruelties Also me: if Canada doesn’t win this hockey game I will have a mental breakdown

I went to a tariff war and a hockey game broke out

I don’t like the fighting aspect of hockey, though I love the sport. Today I was ok with the boys dropping the mittens. The country needed it.🇨🇦

This is the only correct and responsible response. At this point, minimization, dismissal or nervous laughter on the part of government or corporate elites is tantamount to consent. We have got to get serious about the threats to our economic and even military security.

Read this article! First, because the St Albert Gazette is doing AMAZING work these days - covering actual issues in a way you don’t see in postmedia. Second, the Samara Centre for Democracy is doing enormous public service with their reports. No one else is doing what they are. Read it!

Remember folks, his Deputy Chief of Staff said just yesterday to take his words at face value. #cdnpoli

My blood ran cold when I heard this part of the Q and A. We are in grave danger, Canada. 🇨🇦

I am one of those folks who *wishes* consumer boycotts worked but let’s all be honest, the evidence shows they usually don’t. Still, some fascinating stuff in this latest Leger poll about Canadian nationalist sentiment and behavioural response. 🇨🇦🧵 leger360.com/economic-con...

An honour to join Canada’s newly formed #WomenLeadingonClimate chapter. An inspiring day that reminded me of the depth, intelligence, expertise and resolve of those working for action on climate change across our big, diverse and complicated country. 💪🏽🇨🇦

JOIN CANADA

Charlie Angus has cornered the political market on straight talk about Trump’s plans for Canada. Canadian politicians should be fearless and direct about how they’re going to defend our country. They don’t *all* have to speak as plainly as Charlie does, but a few more would be fine by me. 🇨🇦

A reminder that the self-inflicted pain to the US far exceeds any pain we would inflict via counter tariffs. We should push back, but I'd emphasize: 1) make sure they know the pain they're self inflicting. 2) non tariff (and non trade) measures 3) some smart counter tariffs are fine.

It’s not a joke.

this is an immediate global depression button if they touch it, you cannot simply decide not to honor some treasuries without the total collapse of the financial system I’d like to think even they aren’t that stupid, but…

Call me crazy, but I think we need to stop listening to all of the Canadian political and business leaders telling us we just need to make a deal with Trump and then things will be okay.
