At least CBO isn't completely a shitshow like the rest of the admin is

As long as none of them go exclusive - I think its great for devs to get more money but at the same time customers will use the stores they prefer.

Yeah the pandemic really maximized player headcounts and I think I saw a post where it said that something like 90% of played time onsteam games a older vs new as well. I watch some youtube/twitch as well so it definitely can take some time away from games (tho usually watching gameplay lol)

What I saw is that the exponential growth offered by the Game Industry since 2011 is no more. It flatlined on 2021 onwards. Now we have a lot of slop and fighting for attention against TikTok and YouTube. we capped the amount of humans available to play a game too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HM9...

I fired up the 1.0 update last night and managed not to die for once lol (Yet). Got a good 30 mins in. I think this is why I like so many turn based games. Easy to get in and out if you dont have hours of playtime.

Yeah I think the pandemic created a gaming gold rush as companies tried to cash in on the increase in sales (and probably also wanting fortnite level hits). It was bound to happen, still sucks, and I would rather indie and small dev shops be spared.

Sadly that is true. I have to wonder how many of my indie games are in that 2% that I play vs all the ones that are not.

Honestly the problem we went from 25 yrs ago to now is that the game market is saturated. It is difficult for games to stand out. I have over 500 I am watching on wish list, and most of those are not even released yet, not even in EA. Those numbers you listed are painful to see

Pretty much anymore the main games I will buy are indie. Just so much better and I dont need bleeding edge graphics. (plus generally 100x more content and love poured into these games)
