Here's my opinion about one such pilot project already running in Ontario. Stupid, with stupid sauce. www.linkedin.com/posts/paul-m...

Yes, I did! It comes from a proto-Germanic word meaning "that which is given" in all three languages- it's just that the English are much more optimistic than the Germans and the Danes...

Sadly, Canada's retail carbon tax + rebate program was poorly explained to the public. Rebates came by direct deposit and hence weren't noticed by rich people, who claimed they "never got a cheque"...yeah, great policy can be killed by something THAT stupid.

First past the post is a disaster. NDP got 2/3 of the votes the Libs got, but twice as many seats. Cons got 80 seats- Greens, in proportion to the popular vote, should have had 8, but got 2. This is a clown show, not an electoral process.

That room full of clowns being considered a "cabinet" is unbelievable.

I prefer this inadvertently funny version put out by NREL- all it's missing is the wire connecting the power plant to the DAC unit and it would be complete.

You've just demonstrated why it's a very dangerous tool. It has no intelligence or reasoning of even a rudimentary kind. It therefore cannot be relied upon to answer any question that you don't already know the answer to!

That's OK, because I'm not dirtying my mouth or keyboard with his name for at least the next four years. He'll go by the Great Orange Turd, Velveeta Voldemort, the Manchurian Cantaloupe, or anything funnier and more insulting that people come up with in the meantime.

Agreed. Beliefs based on poor evidence are not something that we want to adopt from the Manchurian Cantaloupe's followers.

As much as I'd love to blame the Manchurian Canataloupe for this, correlation does not equal causation, and the causal links proposed are pretty weak. That of course may change- but the real worry is interference with the investigations...

How, and why, we'll keep using petroleum to make chemicals and materials- without the GHG emissions- even once we've stopped wasting it as a fuel. It will be cheaper and easier than using biomass- much less the idiocy of using water, CO2 and electricity! www.linkedin.com/pulse/refine...
