This raises some questions, obviously; but also illustrates the value these tools can provide in better understanding the web we interact with. We're still left speculating on the 'why' here, but we've also gained some new perspective. When in doubt, right click > Inspect (Q). Cheers 🥂 6/6

Inspecting those given options with dev tools, we can learn a bit more: those are 'vk.com' and 'connect.ok.ru' hyperlinks on the Share buttons -- Russian services both (clicking the OK share button generates an XSS attack warning, btw). 5/6

What threw me are the 'Share' options given for the comments on the site's posts -- I expected to see Facebook, Twitter, etc., but the only two options provided I hadn't seen before at the time: 'VK' and 'OK' 4/6

The posts generally do seem to get some level of attention (there's usually a smattering of comments on each post, generally single- to low-double digits, and are the typical low-information sort of takes you'd expect on a blog like this) going back to the first post in February 2011. 3/6

I've come across plenty of homegrown blogs like this over the years and didn't think much of it at the time; the content is pretty standard / boring / right-wing fare -- guns, god, taxes, trump, conspiracy -- but there is a lot of it. 2/6

"Target Retirement 20xx Fund" type options in company 401k plans, aside from generally being garbage, tend to include tech stocks like Tesla, so be sure to drill down into those to check and rebalance your investments into other funds.
