Transition care being targeted, forming the suprastructural modus operandi for a larger "MAHA" agenda of stripping away the few scraps of medical autonomy we have in this failing country. We pay more for worst care & get worse options. You can inject your kids with bleach or infect them with measles

@goingmedieval.bsky.social and @lukeisamazing.bsky.social join the lads for a romp through morality plays as they cover the story of Everyman and its many horrifying progeny including the works of Jack Chick and a little show called Aventures in Odyssey.

The HSLDA newsletter had a section full of stories about parents and kids outwitting those nefarious CPS workers trying to Take Their Children Away and I always used to read them with glee.

Insurance is about keeping people under their employers' control. Welfare is about forcing them into the labor market, for the same end. Every day, rural hospitals and clinics shutter, and laws around healthcare shift to state level regulations, who is allowed to live where.

Honestly it's just a war on health. If you have your health, you have autonomy. If healthcare is provided to everyone, open and without expense, then our society will be too free. They want health to be the purview of only the elite. They want you sick, controlled and dependent

I mean obviously it's bullshit. Obviously they're hypocrites. I don't know why I'm even pointing it out other than feeling like I have something to say. It's just so fucking hideous. We're letting a handful of Catholic freaks choose how you should raise your children

But caring parents want to provide their trans children with HRT, changes in documents, what have you, well, of course there can't be any freedom there. Suddenly that nuclear family's autonomy from the state falls apart

Abortion for teenagers? Well, the teenager's parents must have a say! Gardasil? I don't want my daughter to learn about HPV! Education? We should be allowed to keep them at home. We should be allowed to give them religious education. Vaccines? Fuck it! Some parents think they're icky!

If Trump's government doesn't pull it off, they will at least lay the groundwork. And the democrat who gets elected in 2028 will finish the job
