If you're talking about production tools, then it's more likely to be used that way, but when talking about editing it's more commonly used to refer to the overturning effect popularized by Cher and T-Payne.

There are some modern directors and producers that tout the lack of pitch correction in their work as if it makes things more authentic. Les Miserables is a good example of this, Cats is in large part another.

Auto-tune and pitch correction are different things, one is an effect intended to be noticeable and the other is a production step that is applied to basically everything in modern music.

My entire wardrobe consists of cargo shorts and black t-shirts. And sandals that I can wear socks with.
I have the face and body of an it viking, I dress for comfort and utility. I know it looks shit.
