There is no legal way to quickly round up any significant portion of immigrants in this country. And if you are doing a mass deportation, which was explicitly and repeatedly promised,you are necessarily targeting almost entirely law abiding folks.

If that's what they want they will inevitably get it. The longer they have to purge and intimidate law enforcement leadership, the judiciary, and the military, the harder it will be when the inevitable fight comes .

It was never about just criminals. They promised a mass deportation. That inherently involves rounding up primarily law abiding workers as that is what the vast majority of undocumented and documented immigrants are.
