AvAtIOn InCiDeNts. We’re talking about commercial flying. Not retired dentists crashing Cessnas

You cannot be serious? Please tell me you’re not serious, this must be a joke. Everyone knows flying *was* really safe until exactly January 2025. Holy crap you cannot be this obtuse

Yeah I also remember when the almost the entire legacy Press rallied to hide and downplay Trump’s Russia collusion in 2016 and afterwards. There never was a reckoning, they just doubled down on Trump. I hope folks like you can hold the industry accountable one day.

Why is this framed as Zelenky’s fault?
comment in response to post
“Debate” “sport” “round table with riders and staff”.
comment in response to post
But see Benji specifically said “riders and staff” he did not say Mihai. He said riders and staff should debate. Read it again.

Benji: Domestique could have a sporting debate with riders and staff. Peter: Benji wants a platform to misgender people. It could not have been more clear.

Oh I see his second post, but that doesn’t undo the fucking slander in the first post.

You keep arguing against a point I never made.

Peter accused Benji of being transphobic, he accused Benji of supporting misgendering trans people, which we all agree would be transphobic if it happened, but it didn’t, because Peter, like many, is an slandering asshole to anyone who doesn’t 100% tow the most maximalist line on the position.
comment in response to post
All I said was not to accuse Benji of supporting misgendering ppl. Nothing about Benji’s content would suggest he’d ever misgender people like Mihai did. Nothing about anything Benji said was transphobic. But sure throw out nasty accusations, or just block like Peter did. Be maximally extreme.
comment in response to post
Pretty sure Benji did not mean debating misgendering—nothing about Benji would lend anyone to ever suspect him of that—but the position of trans women in women’s sport. Pretty sure you knew that too.
comment in response to post
Well yes, but he repeatedly made his case through misgendering. Instead of “trans women should not be competing in highest level of women’s cycling”, he called trans women “men”. Which takes it from being about women’s cycling to then being about not accepting trans women period.
comment in response to post
I specifically mentioned the raped and murder of festival goers and children on October 7th, weeks before the war started. Either way I don’t think misgendering trans ppl is cool, and I also thinking mocking massacred civilians is not cool. Makes me sad that folks seem to disagree.

Again this thread was opportunity to comment on how the community at large has an issue with well known commentator Mihai, but not well known commentator at well known multi-continental reader supported publication and podcast.
comment in response to post
It was multiple posts, likes, a definitive pattern, just like with Mihai. And let’s be real, when Twitter likes were public we all talked about problematic Twitter likes by Mihai, Quinn Simmons, and even Chloe Dygert to a lesser extent.
comment in response to post
I love cycling sky and all these accounts herein. Just wanted to make observation. I hear your responses, and also stand by what I said. Carry on with Mihai discussion, as OP intended.
comment in response to post
People are taking issue with Domestique bc Mihai misgenders trans women, etc, but no one is taking issue with Escape for a someone who has equally problematic social activity. That is extremely related, although I’m not pointing at you, or anyone on this thread, just the community at large.
comment in response to post
Well when publicly they were saying no one was raped, no babies killed, retweeting people with celebratory avatars of Hamas in parachutes, it tends to spark curiosity of what the likes are. Back when likes were public, again *at the time of massacre* It rattled me and turned me off Escape sub.
comment in response to post
You’re right I did just jump in at your post and went on a tangent that has nothing to do with you personally. I just saw a lot of big names on cycling sky in the thread and wanted to make an observation. Not aimed at you personally. And what I said is true.
comment in response to post
To each their own, but it’s weird how biased morals can be sometimes. We’re all guilty of it, me too. Just making an observation of our left leaning little cycling community
comment in response to post
I’m always perplexed by the person who (justifiably) has an issue with Mihai but os cool with Escape’s Kate Wagner who *on the day of the massacre* was liking such tweets as “young Israelis deserved to be violently massacred because their music and cocaine sucked”.

As an American I must tell you the contingent that supports this is incredibly small. Most people simply don’t know about it. And even if folks see it reporter, the US press refuses to call it what it is and then moves on within days.

Yes and it’s really unfair that federal workers, Mex- Am veterans, children with measels, or soon to be anyone on Medicaid that is feeling the first wave of consequence. In a just world, these journos and editors at big institutions would feel the first wave of consequences.

this framing is horseshit and NPR will deserve the defunding coming its way. You enabled these Republicans, you deserve what they’ll do to you.
