Previous work has explored Jack Snipe migration phenology but information on habitat preferences and movements between sites during the winter months is something this project hopes to investigate. The more we understand, the more we can do to protect them and their habits! 4/6

For example, it helps us understand which habitats birds overwinter in and use during migration, providing a good insight into avian ecology. You can find out more about #MotusWTS at motus.org 3/6

Motus is a collaborative research network that allows researchers to understand the ecology of migratory birds. The tags use radio telemetry to determine the location of tagged individuals, where this research can greatly contribute to understanding avian migratory patterns and behaviours. 2/6
