I ended up disabling my LinkedIn account for a while because the confident nonsense there was driving me mad.

This isn't a new phenomenon either. Back in 2019 they also pointed this out: www.hec.edu/en/executive...

I wouldn't want an "AI coffee maker" either. Then there's also the issue of companies loving to BS on hype, for example: www.nbcnews.com/data-graphic...

It's not yours until you pay for it, right? I also wonder what staff makes of it if they cannot be certain whether the produce will actually be paid for.

The challenge is to find a new way to design assignments such that the potential use of generative AI tools does not undermine the students' learning process. This will take some time but I think we'll find ways.

Just because a solution is not perfect for everyone does not mean it cannot be a better alternative for you. Always frustrating when people shoot down solutions because they are not ideal.

Extremely frustrating, including for people who work on AI. They could replace GenAI with NFTs or something and it would make just as much sense. Hype marketing is a costly disaster.

All services have downtime, and those with very little downtime are very expensive

I mean, probably, but from a technical perspective the choice for *generative* AI does not make sense to me.
