One reason we need to pass the NY Bigger Better Bottle Bill and the Packaging Reduction Act - to make it possible to stop infinitely expanding toxic dumps like Seneca Meadows.

My grandparents wrote a 8th grade US history textbook in the 60s that included the shameful (slavery, internment …) with the triumphant. The CA schools superintendent rejected it, saying children should learn history “through the rosy fog of patriotism.” He later changed his mind.

The constitutional separation of powers exists to prevent the re-emergence of autocracy. At this moment of existential crisis, we must not only support those who serve the most vulnerable among us. We must also stand firm in defense of America’s founding principles.

Under the US Constitution Congress makes laws and provides for the welfare of the people, and the executive "shall take care that the laws be faithfully executed.” This cruel order was was a clear attempt to usurp the power of the legislature and move one step closer to autocratic rule.
