Every dog has its day

Posted up at a local bar for a sammy and a beer while I file my story about today's protests. but here's a story y'all might appreciate. While I was there I saw and older gentleman with this sign.

The thing about being a professional writer for nearly seventy years is, if you know what you're doing and don't let yourself get lazy about it, it becomes almost trivial to vivisect a certain type of guy in a sentence, because you've seen him before. And Oates far more than knows what she's doing.

That's right.

Had the terrible realisation that The Mars Volta is kind of Tori Amos for straight boys and, no, I will not be taking questions at this time from either camp.

I am full of doughnuts, and even if everything isn’t fine, it’s at least OK right now.

…how was I not aware that Khanate were doing a small tour until literally a few minutes ago? I… would commit *so many* crimes to get to New York by Wednesday night. Goddamnit.

thoughts

*taps mic, clears throat* "I don't know who needs to hear this, but…" *…* *posts only the word "incest" on Bluesky with no further context* *thunderous applause, people shower me in millions of dollars in paper money, I suffocate and die, freeing me from this accursed plane*

dreams don't mean anything

I know snarking on the Crunchyroll Anime Awards really is just shooting fish in a barrel at this point, but if I may get my boot in: The fact that Shoushimin Series wasn't nominated in *a single category* probably should have been a red flag that this was going to be a real turkey among turkeys.

Hey, so, don't typically do this, but I like being able to eat and all our remaining funds for the month are going to bills, so anything at all would be appreciated: ko-fi.com/srednivashtar

Last year the Japanese variety show Gaki no Tsukai had the famous singer Yoko Takahashi go undercover at a restaurant where she fooled everyone right up until she took the stage and belted out A Cruel Angel's Thesis, the intro song to Neon Genesis Evangelion. Just stunning.
