I apologize for the phrasing. While I’m aware alcohol is a depressant overall I wanted to refer to the body’s initial response when ingested which is more akin to a stimulant.

Honestly I just assume it’s because a) It’s no longer affordable b) it’s not the only (legal) stimulant in the market c) Bar culture isn’t nearly as relevant in a time where the main way of connecting now is through a screen
