They dominate the market now. With Xbox having issues there is no competition, Nintendo isnt really a competitor, expect more high prices. There is no other company that competes with them now.

Adam Warren tried, luckily Haruka Takachiho still writes of them in his stories, he claims he has a new book (manga, he writes the stories and has an artist draw them) planned for Kei and Yuri. So, they are not gone. The current version of them are a tad different, but he claims they fit his vision.
