Agreed! We start each episode with a character-focused question that helps the players think of answers from their PC's point of view. I find it helps them to get back into the habit of seeing the game world through different eyes while also uncovering new dimensions.

I take breaks as needed with no apologies, although I'm careful to keep our listeners aware of the upcoming schedule. Sometimes a break isn't so much time off as it is doing something different, like telling side story rather than main story.

Same--material components with no specified cost are covered by the focus. If the description includes both V and S, do you require both to cast?

I've always understood it as all conditions need to be met, but now a closer look has me reconsidering. How do you rule?

I ask because the 5e rules state, "If you can't provide *one or more of spell's components*, you are unable to cast the spell." This indicates to me that if a spell is marked V, S, the caster could use the spell if he could speak but was bound, or was gagged but his hands were free.

I bet! Seeing player (and DM) growth in those new to the game is incredibly rewarding. My wife has become an excellent role-player since we started our show in (oof) 2018. Congratulations, and may everything go the way everyone wants!

We're gearing up for a houseful of guests this weekend, so we won't have an episode to release for Monday. That's subject to change if inspiration and timing coincide, but it's feeling like we're going to be busy with life stuff.

Hahaha! Sounds like a plan. Recaps can be good for helping guide your players.

Thank you so much, Karl! It's always good to hear from listeners, and I'm constantly humbled by the positive reception.
It's been equally surprising for us as the story's unfolded, and we're glad you've found it as enjoyable as we have.
