Trump got himself into conundrum. Besides what makes you think he had a choice in either? He could have been told he couldn't stop aid to Ukraine because 81 Senators approve it. A discharge petition might have brought it up for a vote. He did the same thing in his first term. Trump's an idiot.

If the Iranian regime crumbles, Russia losing Iran as an ally will dramatically affect Russia's war effort. Couple that with Syria and things look bleak for Russia. You could say their cards suck.

This strike may be a net positive for Ukraine. Most likely Trump was going to severely reduce aid to Ukraine anyway. Hopefully Israel's strike will dramatically reduced Iran's ability to send drones and other supplies to Russia.
