Like the sales tax, tariffs function as regressive taxes that harm lower/middle-income families. They are flat increases. When the costs of goods/essentials rise, those in the lowest income brackets feel the increase more because of the proportional impact on disposable income.

I continue seeing local news stories about school staff and teachers scrambling to educate students of immigrant populations on their rights and how to keep them safe.
