I put a small network hub under my desk so I could have my work and personal computers both on Ethernet. The wiring is a little creative. Happy blinkenlights, everyone.

AS DO WE ALL

Today's example of "wow, ice is endlessly fascinating." This might be my favorite so far! 🌿

I’m exploring this guitar I got last week. I looked up some basic chords, and…why did nobody ever tell me that a lot of chords are *easy*? You can make a guitar sound great without years of practice. I mean, you can make it sound even better *with* years of practice, but nobody TOLD me about *this.*

“Do not search for some archaic form of ideological conservatism at work here. The goal of all this is not ‘remaking the government in a conservative image’ — it is ‘if you want anything, you have to ask me for it.’” “The power itself, rather than how it is used, is the point.”

Hope is an act of defiance.

1000000000000066600000000000001 is a prime number…it is also a palindrome. It’s called ‘Belphegor's prime.’ ‘Belphegor’ refers to one of the Seven Princes of Hell (due to the ‘666’ in the middle & the 13 zeroes on either side). So that’s cute.

Good news: My tax refund was direct-deposited in my bank account this morning. The IRS website still doesn’t show “Refund Sent” (yet?), but the bank notified me of the transaction.

New project: I recreated Moses Harris’ prismatic and compound color wheels from The Natural System of Colours published in the eighteenth century and expanded them to dark versions. Explore: www.c82.net/natural-colors How they were made: www.c82.net/blog/?id=97

Three years ago, my high school friend and partner-in-mindcrime @dubanowich.bsky.social joked: “I invented a new word game called ‘Eldrow™.’ I give you a word, and you have to devolve back down to the guesses you would have made to solve the puzzle. Today’s word is ‘crunk.’” Challenge accepted.

The Mac OS Sequoia 15.3.1 update did *not* automatically turn Apple Intelligence back on for my computer. I had turned it off via System Settings in a previous OS release, and it’s still off.

me in 2077: what people forget is that there were a half dozen plane crashes each month before the Great AI Plane Skyfall of 2025 grandson: wow so everybody thought AI was going to fix all of that? me: haha what? oh. no. not even kind of. No

I have achieved what many of my ancestors could only dream of: I have taken a shower.

I already downloaded all my available tax records from the IRS website. (ID verification is required.)

SAME.

BREAKING: every goddamn thing

I think I’ll update my W-4.

Okay, looks like it’s back to normal. That was a somewhat hinky-looking error message, though.

This seems like maybe a bad thing.

Please try to calm down, Dennis. #caturday #cat

Same.

I’m a typography nerd and this essay made me happy. Deeply happy. I’m certain I’ll come back and read it again more than once. If you love type and artistic technical photography and fluid, thoughtful writing, this is for you. This is for us. Marcin, thank you.
