Regarding the “Americans are stupid” trope on social media: 1.) They aren't the only ones. 2.) Blaming schools is too easy. Knowledge is everywhere. People don't even know things that can be learned outside of schools. 3.) You lack knowledge, too, if you give simple answers to this issue.
