"Someone needs to ask the awkward question. And in formulating an answer they should start with geography. European and British security are indivisible. They always have been." Fantastic piece by @philipstephens.bsky.social:

I don’t often feel rage. That said, I’ve been getting pretty damn close, watching one of the few truly warrior like heroes in the world of leadership…Zelensky…being rat fucked by two of the biggest pieces of shit on the planet.

The waste is coming from the White House. 👇

The West needs to focus. There will be no peace until Russia is defeated militarily. There will be a world war if Russia is not defeated militarily.

Feels a bit like Jan 6, except this time without the naïve belief that everyone would abandon Trump once his depravity became undeniable.

Crucial moment for opponents of Reform. The British public strongly supports Ukraine, despises Putin and hates Trump’s unfolding sellout to Moscow. Farage couldn’t be clearer about his alliance with Trump. There will never be a better opportunity to halt Reform in its tracks.

Blumenthal: "What world is he living in? It is not only contrary to the facts and the truth but utterly despicable. A disgusting betrayal of a country that has bled and fought and died for freedom ... the president's surrender is pathetic and weak."

I hear Nigel Farage is declining interview requests. First time for everything, I suppose. I suspect he’ll eventually speak to whoever is least likely to challenge him properly.

Kamala was right. And it only took him less than 30 days to roll over for Putin.

Europe’s dependence on US tech is a critical weakness. From @marietjeschaake.bsky.social on.ft.com/3X4ryYo

I was electrocuted, beaten, stabbed in the leg and starved after being captured while defending my home and family in Mariupol. We held back Putin’s invasion for several weeks while Russia slaughtered over 25,000 predominantly Russian speaking Ukrainians including women and children.

Pretty disturbed by some of the Kremlin framing on the Trump talks being bought by parts of the media worldwide. It’s as if the genesis of the war is entirely forgotten. This isn’t a conflict which needs mediation. It was an unprovoked act of aggression. It could end tomorrow if Putin just withdrew.

Reuters reporting that the Trump administration will likely close the office charged with resettling Afghans who helped the US military during their two decades’ worth of operations in the country. 200,000 people could be affected. www.reuters.com/world/office...

Charlie Maynard, "Of the £1.4 billion going to Thames Water, £900 million is going out in interest expenses and advisors fees" "So little of this will fix the problem, it's just a fees fest" "Thames Water should be put in special administration, bankruptcy to you and I"

It seems almost unavoidable at this point that we are headed for a deep, deep recession. Just based on 200K+ federal firings & pullback of contracts, the March employment report (to be released April 4) seems certain to show bigger job losses than any month ever outside of a few in 2008-9 and 2020.

I welcome the agreement on our 16th sanctions package. With tighter measures on circumvention, new import and export bans, and sanctions on Putin’s shadow fleet, we are closing backdoors for Russia’s war machine to operate. The Kremlin won’t break our resolve.
