Wow! Eight-inch rounds or sheet cakes?

Wow, LA. The actual big city. And I thought you were gonna say somewhere like Vancouver, or Atlanta. But, even these days, I suppose they're still filming more in Hollywood's hometown than in those other joints. Are you actually planning a visit back, or just reminiscing?

What old neighborhood is that? One thing's for sure, nobody ever films anything in Naptown!

I was told just that by a lady on the train before we got to Vancouver. She's from there. This was part of those wonderful conversations you have with perfect strangers when the the crew forces you to sit with perfect strangers in the dining car.🙂

I must admit I had background concerns about getting back into the USA. I'm the wrong color to avoid the rather arbitrary attention of ICE. But there was no problem.

We stayed at L'Hermitage Hotel downtown. We were only there for a day, so we walked around admiring the city, went to Chinatown, had some great street food, rode the sky train. Then, next morning, it was back to that beautiful Pacific Central train station for our ride to Seattle.

Glad you had a great day outside! I mowed the lawn, which was good for my homeowner's ego and about 21,000 steps on my Fitbit. Hey, my wife and I were in your neck of the woods, like, 3-4 weeks ago. Took the Canadian out to Vancouver. Loved that town.

Very much so! Now, it's almost 4 in the afternoon and you have inspired me to finally go take a shower!🙂

Congratulations, you aren't dead! Yay!😀 You inspired me to do similar math, and, let's see, my age is the number of years between my birth and the first movie ever made. And between now and the release of Jailhouse Rock (starring Elvis Presley).😮

Ahh, but that's what they ALL say...🙂

But I'm sure there are other schools of thought.

Seems like a dumb idea to me, one likely to appeal only to tech bros and those guys who build kit car dune buggies for fun. And maybe farmers, for back 40 work.

This thing can't go farther than 250 miles on a charge, has a max speed of 90MPH, and comes only in rear-wheel drive. Is that a $40,000 vehicle, regardless of how purdied-up you make it? Add to that an interior (and exterior!) that's almost entirely plastic.

By the time you're done modding up the blank Slate (and probably paying someone to do it because you, well, can't) have you turned a $20,000 truck into a $40,000 truck with $20,000 truck capabilities? Because...

You can fuss together a pretty nice looking truck with all those mods. But how much does it cost when you're done? Those mods aren't free. You can change this 2-seater pickup into a 5-seater SUV, you can raise it or lower it, even put on new bumpers. But...

Some of these mods (and you'll want to mod, the "blank Slate" is kind of blah) are snap on/snap off things, but a bunch of them require wraps and at least one requires wiring (to turn the crank window controls into electric). Seems way beyond most people's comfort levels. And...

I kept a close and probably (to her) irritating eye on her and she seems to be just fine except for a few muscle aches and some scraped hands. She's built tough, just, umm, not overly graceful? Wait, did I say that? No, I did not. I did not say that. Forget it immediately!

Oh, yes! If there were only the one bathroom, I would not only have called a plumber and maybe even a floor guy in the first place, but we probably would have checked into a nice hotel until they got it all sorted.😂

Rant all you want; it's only ranting when it's unhinged, and your stuff is just true. I look forward to every word. My main question is ... if someone books that room, do they get Fifi in the bargain?

I highly recommend taking the train thru America. You see sights you just can't see from a highway (especially if you're driving).

Yes, it is. When my wife and I were dating back in the day, she took me to this restaurant outside post (this was in Germany) that served up a pizza with an egg cracked open on top of it, and cooked as the pizza went thru the oven. Delicious.

Yeah. I write and publish novels; I'm NOT a promoter. Also, The money flows to me, not away from me. If it doesn't do that, it does nothing at all.

Sounds like a plan.
