Ah, I made it just! I have been all over the place recently and not on here much. I have done a lot of gardening and I am back at the hospital tomorrow. Out tonight for Father's Day. Have a good evening!

...When I was 18 I had serious hed injuries in a freak accident. My thinking and memories were very confused. I knew that people found it difficult to know what to say to me.

What you are going though is very difficult to manage on an emotional level. It is not possible to say the right thing on a rational level all the time. Meaning no disrespect to your sister, she is not in full in control of her mind. She may be aware of this on some level. ....

Yes, so were my family but there aren't many of us left now. We are lucky though. My elder son's new partner is from Ukraine. Most of her family and friends are still there!

Yes, school my sanctuary though. Is your father still alive? Are you doing anything for Father's Day? Our elder son is taking us for a meal later. Our younger son is in Bath. He sent me some whisky. It is a bit weird being the oldest generation in the family now.

I know. I had worked out you were C of E. W H had a bad time at his school. He tweets about it sometimes.

Tabernacles are not nearly as bad as thuribles.

Yes, I heard the sound of the Lancaster approaching the house so I stepped out of the back door to check what was making the noise. I thought it sounded like a big plane! We get the police helicopter flying overhead quite often too.

I had to click on the link twice to see Wellington Street.

We have a Wellington Street, between Picton Road and Murat St. The houses round there are most Georgian and Victorian terraced houses but Google maps shows a modern one which has been built there. www.instantstreetview.com/@53.47548,-3...

Irish, but posh Irish - the very worst sort!

My problem is that I lost track of what is in the charts around the time when Val Doonican had a regular TV show! 😁

We had a Lancaster bomber flying low over our back garden just as I went out the back door one year!

Yes, I thought it must be something like that. We see the Red Arrows and the Battle of Britain planes flying back to their bases after the Southport Air Air Show every year.

Is the national arboretum thing near you? Is it something to do with that?

One of our neighbouring suburbs here in north Liverpool is called Waterloo. In one part of it, all the streets are named after the leading figures in the battle - Blucher Street, Murat Street etc.

As my wife said this morning, she wants to know exactly how much all these parades add to our economy through tourism, or they should just stop it.

And the commentary: "And the buttons on the Squadron Corporal Major's uniform feature a swan which commemorates the vital part played by the regiment in the Duke of Marlborough's victory in the Battle of Blenheim in 1704."

It is better than Terms Of Endearment. No Anglo-Saxon warlord should have to sit through that.

The BBC showed some of the videos which had been circulating online much later in the day when they had been "checked by BBC Verify!"

Yes, I have had only limited experience with narcissists in Real Life so I am not used to it.

You, too, must be buzzin'. 😁

Thanks for posting this Keri. It is more realistic than the BBC's ultra-cautious and edited version of what is happening.

Or at least I hope it is "plootin doon" and he gets as wet as Sunak did when he made his resignation speech outside No. 10!

Morning Pilar. I still go on X, mainly so that I can tweet my opposition to Brexit to Starmer et al. There are a couple of other accounts on there which I like too.

Morning, everyone. I have things to do indoors and outside before the rain arrives. We need it.

I nearly died after a freak accident when I was 18. I was a day away from having my life support turned off. I have lost my younger brother, sister, SIL, 3 school friends & 1 uni friend. I know that we can all only take one day at a time & do the best we can.

Oh, I didn't think that. It is hard to do irony, allusion or subtlety on BlueSky or Twitter.

I know but they are already happening in cities like Chicago and Los Angeles etc.

I have left the far end of our lawn in the back garden go wild but nothing of note has appeared there yet. 😧
