(1/2) What I've learned in the playoffs: -Daigneault is a dummy for changing his lineups too early -Thibs is a dummy for changing his lineups too late -Daigs lost the game by fouling up 3 -But fouling up 3 is ruining the game because it's too good of a strategy

Tyrese Haliburton two voices

So much happened in the last 3ish minutes of Game 1. Here's every play, starting from when the Thunder were up nine to Haliburton's shot: streamable.com/ekhran

Starting point for tonight should not be what OKC did wrong. They played a good game. Give credit to the Pacers first and foremost (it seems impossible for many people to do this throughout the playoffs). They made all of the shots and were fantastic in that second half.

This was a tough sequence from SGA. Drove right into Siakam on one end, then let him by for an offensive rebound on the other.

WOW

As @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social predicted, Pacers tried this "C' action out. -Thunder were ready, bringing help from the corner to prevent Siakam from getting the ball. -Pacers threw in a wrinkle to get that corner shooter open. -Generated a good shot for a good shooter that missed.

Tweeting this out one last time. I talked to Caruso's high school teammates and college coaches to tell the story of how at every level, he's been the guy who does all of the little things, gets overlooked, then explodes on the biggest stage. www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/oklah...

I added some video to a play that @caitlinmaycooper.bsky.social described with @zachlowenba.bsky.social. Terrific analysis here. Now you can pick out this play ("C") while watching the series, understand why it works, how the Thunder will counter, and how the Pacers will readjust.

I was a year early on this story, but it still holds up well. This was my feature on Rick Carlisle. He transformed from a coach who would slow his teams down by calling out every play, to speeding them up by putting full trust in his players: www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/news/...

Found an old YT video announcing Alex Caruso to A&M. Some of the comments: "This dude is the most garbage basketball player in high school!" "give me a scholorship from A&M if he gets one" "He only joined the basketball team so that he would stop getting stuffed in lockers"

Alex Caruso has been overlooked at every single stage of his basketball career. Now, it's impossible to ignore him. Here is Caruso's unbelievable journey, from Texas A&M ballboy to one of the best defenders in the NBA: www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/oklah...

Firing Thibs is a mistake, again. Wrote on how fans keep on falling for the easy narratives, missing the forest for the trees with the flawed but genius coach: www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/new-y...

Here's how Thibs' teams did the year after firing him. -Bulls: Went from 50-32 under Thibs to 42-40 with mostly the same roster -Wolves: Fired Thibs after a 19-21 start, went 17-25 the rest of the year and 19-45 the following year (after trading Jimmy Butler)

Had a delightful conversation with @vohit4rohit.bsky.social on the spell he bought (on sale!) from an Etsy witch that definitely caused the Knicks to win Game 5: www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/new-y...

"Thibs wouldn't play 9 guys in a baseball game" - Kenny Smith during Game 3 -Game 3: Played 9 guys double digit minutes, Knicks W -Game 4: Played 8 guys double digit minutes (plus Delon Wright 9 mins) -Game 5: Played 9 guys double digit minutes, Knicks W

I'm glad that Caruso has a big stage to show how much of a maniac he is. My favorite player to watch, and he was doing the same things while going unnoticed outside of Chicago over the past several years.

Alex Caruso is getting an opportunity to ham it up in the playoffs

Gobert did not get this pass

SGA driving gravity — draws all five defenders, kicks out for a corner 3

Games with 15+ assists, 0 turnovers since Haliburton entered the league: -Tyrese Haliburton (11x) -Chris Paul (4x) -James Harden (once) -Nikola Jokic (once) The Haliburton.

Anthony Edwards is a better player than the one who made this stage last year. How the Paris Olympics fueled that growth: www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/minne...

Nothing but net on this Ant jumper

This is how you sneak into media seating in style

I've been to a bunch of basketball games at State Farm Arena. Fever vs Dream is the first time I've seen every single person in the lower level standing up.

Caitlin Clark says she watched the Pacers game from her hotel room and recorded her reaction to Tyrese Haliburton's game-winner. "It's a pretty iconic video. Maybe one day everybody will see it, but not right now."

Cool court design for Fever vs. Dream tonight in Atlanta. Center court message: "Pay some respect to women's sports."

Wrote about SGA, the free throw merchant narrative, and why his greatness can't be reduced to playing for the whistle www.sbnation.com/nba/2025/5/2...

I investigated the Shai Gilgeous-Alexander free throw merchant claim. Yes, he flops sometimes. But when you check the receipts, there's not much to back up the level of criticism that he receives: www.sportingnews.com/us/nba/oklah...
