“What are all of those keys on your keyring for, girl?” This one’s for my home, this one’s for my car, and the rest of them are for lacing through my fingers for protection when I’m walking alone.

This is the best thing I’ve seen today and I need a source. Bluesky, please help. Credit to whoever this rad group is.

Her stats line up with CDC data…

Did anyone ever read The Emperor's New Clothes and think, "I don't want to be the brave kid. I want to be the genuflecting aides and townspeople?" Just wondering.

Why the fuck is it little girls don’t need 30 dolls and not little boys don’t need 30 toy cars? I actually know why and it has been pissing me off for weeks.

Cancer changes you forever. Even if you’re lucky enough, like me, to have the type of cancer that can be cured. Your body is not the same. Life is not the same. It can feel very isolating when friends and family don’t understand this. #graphicmedicine #cansky

“If I understand this correctly, the US president has launched a trade war against the world, believes he can force the EU and China to meet his terms, is determined to annex Canada and Greenland, but is powerless before the sovereign might of El Salvador. Is that it?” ~ Steve Inskeep.

I guess it’s good to know that the next Democratic president can ship Trump and his cabinet off to a Central American prison without a trial and we won’t ever have to worry about them coming back.

Lazy Sunday morning #catsofbluesky

Heading out to handsoff2025.com tomorrow? Please read this!

Yes, the stock market may be tanking and our national security apparatus has never been more vulnerable and we're on the verge of both economic collapse and war, but it was all worth it to keep pronouns out of email signatures.

A real, rolling filibuster is a thing of beauty.

I think the craziest thing about this Signal scandal is that by next week there’s gonna be something 10 times worse

I know this is going to sound naive or earnest, but I genuinely find myself shocked by how little people seem to be upset by the levels of corruption we're seeing. Is that the median voter assumes everyone is corrupt already? Or isn't actually getting stories about the corruption?

Is this a new tariff day or a tariff pause day? It’s tough to keep up.

want to sink into despair? look up any book on domestic abuse in your library app and see how long the wait list is

It doesn’t feel like a presidency.

It would have been less embarrassing if JD had just fucked the couch he was sitting on.

Friday morning chill. #catsofbluesky

I got lazy using Amazon. No more. Buying directly from businesses, using Costco on-line, local small businesses and my wonderful public library for books. No more Kindle. It feels good and I will continue.

I’m creating new protest signs. It’s not my first protest or my first sign. It is my first sign with a book quote. The librarian in me feels the needs to cite my source. Is that normal?

You don’t have to watch MSNBC. They are systematically firing their non-white hosts and you have every reason to turn the TV off. I will not support bootlickers. I will not support those who kiss the ring. I will not support those who bend the knee. Ever.

I can’t remember where I read this, but it’s important: Why is it that when people think about traveling to the past, they worry about doing something small that will drastically change the present, but no one in the present thinks that doing something small today can drastically change the future?

What is being kept from us?!

A lot of the old dystopian novels seem positively whimsical now. Reading Vonnegut and thinking, “Yeah man, I wish.”

Dorothy B. Porter changed libraries 💜 The Dewey Decimal System used to only have two classifications for Black people: 325 (colonization) & 326 (slavery). Each book by a Black person was put into one of these classifications. A book of poetry? Classified as colonization. Enter Dorothy B. Porter 🧵

Every time you don't buy a book from Amazon, but use a good indie store who actually values the sale & treats you & your purchase with respect, the sun shines brighter, floofy puppies gambol in fresher grass, & Jeff Bezos's piles sting for just a biiiit longer. Sounds GREAT to me. Buy independent.

Raise your hand if you have restarted Stardew Valley/Animal Crossing/insert cozy game of choice here because… *gestures broadly* and escapism is real.

Things I didn’t learn in library school: How to use a Moxie long-arm quilting machine. It’s so much fun! I’m now trained to help patrons use it. #librariesrock #librarian #publiclibraries #librarylife

Fighting cancer was a distractions that got me through the first Trump administration. I discovered Stardew Valley and Cozy Grove during that time and they are still my go to escapes.

All cozy on a cold morning. #catsofbluesky
