So let’s have a little look at the Right wing media feeding off its own ecosystem. Here’s @TiceRichard claiming NET ZERO caused the Heathrow shut down, while sharing a Telegraph article that appears to back up his claim Must be true then, right?? 🧐you know the drill… 🧵 1/

The Westminster Establishment cabal properly did us over

The Papua New Guinea Courier is in rare form.

Jan 2025 heat pump stats: Energy in: 1,209 kWh @ 20.46 p/kWh avg Heat out: 3,802 kWh Avg COP: 3.14 Avg cost of heat delivered: 6.51 p/kWh [~11% less than 85% efficient gas boiler @ 6.19p/kWh] Cold month and pricey Agile rates, but STILL cheaper than gas. Monitoring by @openenergymon.bsky.social

Interesting new video from @heat-geek.bsky.social taking a look at a Sunamp solution for hot water 👍

“Blindly continuing on the current path is a form of madness.”

Really enjoyed recording a podcast with the brilliant Adam Chapman, aka 'The Heat Geek.' I learned so much listening to him, he's passionate, realistic and incredibly knowedgable. He knows heat pumps work and he knows the genuine benefits of living with them. www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dpq...

Bill Gates on the Elon Musk interventions on UK politics: “Insane shit”

That's weird, I'm hearing story after story of how your party spent 14 years increasing child poverty, doubling homelessness, trebling national debt, wasting £8.7bn on dodgy PPE, raising taxes to a record high and filling our rivers with shit.

1. The UK government’s pursuit of GDP growth at all costs is an assault on our natural wealth, which will impoverish us all. It might be able to massage the headline figures by converting the living world into money, but it does not improve our lives.🧵

Socialists want decent wages and working conditions for workers, and vital public services run for the good of the country, not the profit of a greedy capitalist minority.

1. There are many things I’m glad to leave behind on X, but most of them come down to this: loyalism. Regardless of ideology, those who tend to be most abusive, unpleasant and vicious are staunch loyalists of particular figures, factions or policies. 🧵

To the crowds cheering Trump's withdrawal from the Paris Agreement: Do you think you live on a different planet, which climate breakdown does not affect? Do you imagine only greens and progressives will be harmed by Earth systems collapse? Do you believe you can win an argument with physics?

Here, broken down into a thread, is a copy of my last post on X. 1. This is my farewell post. I am not deleting this account, as I don’t want to lose the archive, and I don’t want my name taken by imposters. But, for as long as Musk owns the platform, I’ll no longer use it.

1. Now, on top of all the other things we can't have, we learn we can't have new hospitals. Why? Because Starmer's government is committed to a higher principle than saving lives: saving money. Never mind that trying to keep old hospitals running costs a fortune: a classic false economy. ... 🧵

Tiktok has been banned in the US on the grounds that China could use it "to manipulate and control Americans by spreading propaganda and misinformation." In other words, China *might* do exactly what Elon Musk *has done* with X. It's a blatant double standard.

Wind = super cheap, green power. So it's totally nuts that the UK wastes billions by turning wind farms off when it's windy. But we can help fix the system - with regional pricing.

Heat pumps offer vast energy efficiency gains. They are 4x more efficient than gas boilers.

Fascinating talk & great Q&A - thanks, @g-iossa.bsky.social 👍

Yes. ExxonMobil's own scientists DID predict how much the planet would warm given continued fossil fuel burning. And they DID warn us about the "potentially catastrophic events" that would result from that warming in their 1982 internal memo. #NewClimateWar #CaliforniaFire

#climate This is going to be a bit of a rant. So, on Friday, 6 climate agencies released their findings for 2024, with Copernicus Climate Change Service, Berkeley Earth, & WMO finding that we likely surpassed 1.5 C of warming compared to the pre-industrial average. www.cbc.ca/news/climate... 🧵

The Bank of England is driving the UK economy into recession youtu.be/JxHbSmSkIzA?... The Bank of England is crashing the UK economy. And apparently, our politicians want to do nothing about that. We really are living in an economy that is out of control.
