Thing is, if the telegraph were still a proper newspaper they might put reporters undercover to try and prove these claims or the like, right? But their connection to news has degraded to such a degree that they just repeat what they’ve read on reddit

I’m sorry, the DWP announcing “don’t worry, the benefits u-turn means only 150,000 people will be pushed into poverty now!” is just insane. Cruel, incompetent ghouls who shouldn’t be allowed to run a bath let alone a system sick people rely on to live.

Strong People's Front of Judea/Judean People's Front vibes on the Far Right of UK politics these days..

As I recall Jacqui Smith's response in 2009 to her parliamentary expenses being (rightly) scrutinised also wasn't "good enough". How is it that the views of this utter political fraud are taken seriously?

1972. "David, it was go with this or a list of dates & a blank space...Yes I know it's dreadful, the Art Department have already sacked him..."

Mandy Clare, Reform UK councillor, appears to assault a member of the public at Winsford Pride. This wasn’t the only incident witnessed. She was then arrested.

Remind me why creating a market in children’s care services was ever thought to be a smart idea? Via @bylinetimes.bsky.social.

Russell Martin's winning over any previously-underwhelmed Rangers fans then...

George Freeman should resign. I know it, you know it, he knows it, Whately knows it. Perhaps that divorce he described as "painful" was also expensive...

A newly elected Reform UK councillor tried to join the council’s ruling Labour group, saying he couldn’t stand Nigel Farage and Reform was full of people with big egos ✍️ Martin Shipton

That’s the problem. They cannot see what is wrong with their wrongdoing. Lack of a strong moral compass.

Anything the Times can do, the Sunday Times can match. They're going to endorse Reform at the next election, aren't they? This interview with Farage is so soft that Hello! would have wanted it to be far more questioning. Caroline Wheeler should be ashamed. archive.is/kPe1O

The two main parties – we might almost say three, given Reform’s aspirations – are all aiming at the same small diminishing cadre of elderly voters who don’t understand how the world has turned against them. Those who know how the world works and want to make it work better are meanwhile ignored. 👍

The BBC should have employed voice actors to sing the lines. (How daft.)

"Under first-past-the-post, because there are more people wanting Special Brew than cappuccino, lattes or flat whites respectively, you are all condemned to go out on the piss." Brilliant from @willhaycardiff.bsky.social www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

If proved to be true this ought to end George Freeman's career. archive.is/UiKi8

As it stands, this might happen in plenty of constituencies at the next election. Someone who isn't even a current MP could be a Reform defence secretary, foreign secretary, justice secretary... assuming Tice was chancellor and Anderson home secretary. You've got four years to stop this, Starmer.

Reminder that Rod Stewart played Sun City.

“We got hacked,” said chief editor Virgin Ron. “Hacked in a very specific way in which a single link on a single Facebook post pointed to a gentlemen’s leisure film”

“It’s hard for me because I’m extremely wealthy, and I deserve to be, so a lot of it doesn’t touch me. But that doesn’t mean I’m out of touch. We’ve got to give Farage a chance. He’s coming across well. I know some of his family, I know his brother, and I quite like him.” Cunt. archive.is/kR81V

Disability Labour - the Labour Party’s official disabled person’s affiliate organisation - has issued a statement that the government’s concessions are insufficient and is calling on all MPs to vote against the benefits Bill on Tuesday

Huge impact for the Norfolk economy.

Disastrous news from Morecambe as the independent board of directors say that: -Wages haven't been paid -Owner Jason Whittingham is trying to back out of selling the club -Whittingham claims he can't sell "without consent from an unspecified third party." www.morecambefc.com/news/2025/ju...

Tom Baldwin: he's nice really! Patrick Maguire: no he isn't.

Reform UK Worcestershire’s first council cabinet meeting lasts 20 minutes. Chaos. www.redditchadvertiser.co.uk/news/2526941...

What a hollowed-out fucked-up corporate “local news industry” we’ve got, reliant on disillusioned poverty pay graduates rewriting dodgy press releases that are gamed for SEO by a casino, all enabled by Google pushing this shit through its Discover tab. pressgazette.co.uk/news/the-pr-...

It's not looking good for Morgan McSweeney and Blue Labour www.ft.com/content/fee4...

A majority of voters of ALL parties want electoral reform. Labour would be pushing against an open door. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

And if somehow Mamdani was allowed to stand, Cuomo would be elevated immediately to the House of Lords and would be Work and Pensions Secretary by the end of the year. Probably editor of the Evening Standard a few years after.

Some hugely impressive test veterans on Newsnight tonight. Starmer and his cronies looking the other way as usual. No chance of Andy Burnham ever getting back into government after supporting the veterans' cause - McSweeney will have well and truly marked his card now.
