While the State Department CAN revoke *visas* with very little legal process involved, stripping someone of a green card is done by DHS (not the State Department) and requires filing formal charges alleging a violation of immigration law and a removal hearing in front of an immigration judge.

I know it's of little consolation, but most Americans are horrified by Trump's treatment of Canada. We can only apologize for this bizarre cult that has taken over the country. Frankly, U.S. imploding is more likely than any real threat to Canadian sovereignty.

I suspect it's much less about race than the addition of sexual orientation and gender identity to the protected class. That's consistent with Hegseth's long history of not wanting gays or trans in the military, and will be defended using the same rhetoric as bathroom bills
