It’s a plurality. Or a majority of the votes cast for one of the top two candidates, if you want, but not a majority of votes cast. “Majority” means more than 50%, not just more than anyone else.

For those not in the know, adding &udm=14 to the end of your Google search url will get rid of all the tacked-on AI bullshit *completely*.
You can even modify your search engine settings in your browser so the extra URL argument is automatically added by default.
