If you're a single girl, and you are wondering where all the good guys are, grab a friend and head to the local indoor VR golf. Ask the group of guys next to you how to use the VR interface. Ask every turn. Ages seem like 23 to 35.

Ads featuring fake CBC articles have inundated the social media platform X in recent weeks. The ads are designed to lure Canadians into a sophisticated scam that uses Russian internet infrastructure, CBC News has found.

Bought this cheese on sale, as I like provolone, and I'm realizing now it's not cheese. I feel a bit scammed as this was in the cheese section Tastes nice tho; a strong smoked bacon flavor, but there is zero protein and it's vegan starch-based? I'm so confused. It tries so hard to be what it hates

Best part of winter is being able to wear hoodies 24/7.

Pornhub banned in 13 US states. Solution? A VPN. I can only imagine NordVPN is laughing its way to the bank right now.

I want to sit in a room with a bunch of motivated smart people for an afternoon and just brainstorm. It's been a LONG time since I've last done that. I feel at times I'm always working on the small stuff, so I've grown to not think about the big stuff. Maybe I'll just time off and think by myself

I think cats have better taste in music than most people.

Ok, this is awesome… 😎 Doom as a captcha, in the browser (using wasm.) doom-captcha.vercel.app

"hey" - random person I consider this a social-engineer based Trojan horse, aimed to steal my time and focus in some way. But maybe worse. Not sure why people still do it though. Want my attention? Slide me an Amazon eGift card.

All the cool nerds are making websites for their Meshtastic nodes. meshcast.ca I couldn't resist.

This remains one of the most annoying developer decisions I've encountered in the last few years. While I've learned to replace node-fetch with other libraries, LLM libraries are still using node-fetch everywhere in their recommendations to me. And it breaks every time. github.com/node-fetch/n...

After the new Windows 11 H2 updated, I'm being asked if I should allow Adobe Acrobat to access my exact location. @microsoft.com, you should add a third button option - "Uninstall this App".

The Canada Post strike is over it looks like. My mail is only 3 months late at this point; 1 month later than normal.

I've 'invented' a drink that I am calling the `Once and Done`. After having a few of them this last week while in Cancun, I can say confidently that it's aptly named. It's half Baileys (aka, Irish Cream) and half rum (dark?), on the rocks. Depending on the rum used, might taste a bit like Kahlúa.

The PayPal mafia is now running the US nation? Strange days.

I wrote tech news articles for Tom's Hardware around 15-years ago. When I joined, ad revenue was drying up and the industry was being forced into pumping out short-form content more frequently Tech blogs, social media, news aggregation, and the need for faster news coverage hurt long-form content.

It's probably a bad idea, but the 24/7 gym here could probably benefit from having a cheaper night-owl membership. Half price, but entry allowed only between 11pm and 5am. That's a 6-hour window to help combat the surge of users during peak hours. Then again, I like the quiet I get here at night.
