Ikari Warriors #c64 (1988) What a game this is! I remember getting on my Raleigh burner BMX and riding down to WH Smiths to pick this one up. The intro alone was enough to ensure that my eleven year old self was blown away and excited about what still is, a wonderful game.

After a discussion with my friend Phil who posts on the Facebook C64 group every week, I got to remember a game from back in the day. L.A Swat #C64 (1986) The cover had EVERYTHING a young boy could ask for, it looked awesome. The game... It was alright 😆 a budget rambo/commando scrolling shooter.

Henry's House #C64 (1984) Another platformer that I really loved when I was a kid and still do, everytime I load it up. Great graphics and sound effects (that live in my head forever) and excellent gameplay.

#Gimmick!2 is out on the Xbox and PS4/5 today so, although I already own the Switch version, I double dipped and got myself a PS5 version too. Yes, it's that good and you should buy it. Soundtrack by David Wise (Donkey Kong legend)

Nemesis The Warlock - art by Kevin O'Neill 1980

This is so sad. I remember getting some amazing videogames in these stores in the eighties and then working for the company later, as a teenager. Life is always changing.

Ninja Gaiden 2 Black (Xbox Gamepass) This is FANTASTIC ! A (sort of) remake of the original game using thr Unreal Engine 5.

Following on from yesterday's post about Nemesis The Warlock on the C64... I got really into the game, got quite far and then when I left the screen by jumping up into a new one.... I got caught in an endless loop of death by falling 😆 Not unlike the famous Jet Set Willy deathloop. Oh well.

Nemesis The Warlock (1987) #C64 This was a game that I absolutely loved the look of when I saw the magazine reviews. I got really excited, went out to the local game stores and.... none of them had it. I went home so sad. Years later, I finally got a chance to play it and enjoyed it. Simple fun.

Good old Argos (£39.99!) Donkey Kong Returns - I have never played this before, I'm not a fan of the Wii console and never owned a 3DS so this was really fresh for me. Decent game, VERY hard in places. Tropical Freeze is still my absolute favourite, I'd love a new game in the series.

Michael Bridges is hilarious. He looks constantly surprised that a camera is pointing at him.

I have this overwhelming urge to play Rocket Ranger and defeat the evil that is sweeping the world. I played the Amiga 500 version first, absolutely fantastic game, but I was so impressed when I later tried the C64 version.

Alien Romulus is on the Disney channel so I thought I'd give it a watch. Overall, I enjoyed it. The mostly physical special effects were superb, especially the face huggers. The only slight complaint was that they really crowbarred some 'easter egg' phrases into the script and it was a bit cringe.

The modern videogame market is so different today. The 'dark arts' of gaming has flourished. Microtransactions, early access, shovelware, huge prices and unfinished and disappointing games at launch has damaged the industry. A lot of gaming companies seem to be getting it really wrong.

A good friend of mine has been telling me for ages about a game series he thought I'd enjoy and, very thoughtfully, got me a (digital) copy of the newest game for Christmas. So I've been playing it a lot, incredibly addictive. Diablo style adventuring. Path Of Exile 2 on the PS5

I've totally gone from Twitter now, I'm sad as it was a great platform that I got into too late but I just can't stand what it has become. All the cool people are over here for sure.

I hope that one day HouseMarque add an easy mode to this spectacular game so I can actually finish it. Officially the hardest game I've ever played but I do love it. (Returnal on PS5)

So.... Around 1993... Curry's demo pod on the lakeside retail park in Essex. I wandered into the store and noticed they had a new game called Streetfighter 2. I was so unbelievably blown away by it, incredible graphics, music and gameplay. I had never seen a videogame so cool in my life.

Ideally you would own a whole original collection of your favourite retro games but why is there a huge problem with people who emulate? Not everyone has the money to collect nowdays and it's better to play the games than not, right?

Carrying on with my Arnie obsession! I remember watching this one a few years ago (again) and finding that it was better than I remembered.

Wow! I might start collecting Amiga games again, after all. My friend just paid £25 for Elite 2 in mint condition, what a find. I've never actually played it though, is it any good?
