The defence used by the Sycamore Gap accused is so painfully thin, that I am genuinely surprised the verdict has taken this long. This pair would have lost a battle of wits with the tree.

I get confused - I know either Gove or Trump is very keen indeed on coke - which one is it?

Announcement incoming very soon! #RejoinMarch #RejoinEU

This has been a veritable smorgasbord of fabulous posters

Heading to the BBC Audio Drama awards tonight! Wish us luck!

Quite right. MP's make the rules for their own expenses, and then all trot contentedly to the trough. It's outrageous.

Massive shoutout to @neverevertory.bsky.social!! (US & UK posts) Please make sure you are following them & repost! Share far and wide!!

Just been using DeepSeek; it knocks every other free LLM into a cocked hat. Jaw dropping. It knows stuff that the others don't (Richmal Crompton never met Anthony Burgess), and can mimic and copy effortlessly, whilst also being a swift and accomplished coder. This is what I hoped LLMs would do.

Brilliant nicked tweet 👍 NEVER FORGET. We have the most expensive energy in Europe BECAUSE THE TORIES SOLD IT. We have the most expensive rail fares in Europe BECAUSE THE TORIES SOLD IT. We have the dirtiest rivers in Europe BECAUSE THE TORIES SOLD THE WATER COMPANIES. NEVER FORGET OR FORGIVE.

New petition: "Tax banks to recoup the £23bn they lost taxpayers in the banking crisis" Deadline 7 July 2025, created by Jonathan Bell #NewPetition

. Someone up there likes me. .

come on everyone sign and share this, let's get it over 100,000 and make the Government debate it. "Petition: Apply for the UK to join the European Union as a full member as soon as possible"

This is such a good idea, especially where power cuts are frequent.

I've just filled in the Young European Movement's survey on how important Erasmus+ is. Can you help and fill it in too? 1.yem.org.uk/erasmus-impo...

In 1970 the UK and Norway were roughly equal, almost no debt, and owned all their Public Services. Now the UK owns nothing and has £3tn of debt. While Norway still owns everything and has the equivilant per person of £10tn. That's how privatisation 'works'.

Is this an example of the two tiered justice system that Reform bleat about? Haven't heard them mention it. I'd've thought that corrupt venal benefits scroungers would appal the right wingers; seems it doesn't appal them if said scroungers are rich farmers (please excuse the tautology).

The Media won't acknowledge this video of the farmers blocking an ambulance with its blue lights on so could you could RT it so people see it?

Guardian and Observer journalists have asked people not to share Guardian stories for 48 hours from midnight tonight (Tues), to respect their strike and the virtual picket line

Proportional Representation won a vote in the Commons 138-136 today. If the UK had Proportional Representation it wouldn't have had a Conservative Government since 1930. Instead it has had 70 years of them. Time to get PR done.

It's not binding of course, but it's a great start.

Quite. Why haven't all these Tory lackeys running the BBC been replaced?

We need to get back to this level of NHS functioning.

This is such an excellent idea. I have loved all of Maureen Johnson's books (even though as a 66 year old man I don't think I'm the centre of her target audience), but "Death at Morning House" is an absolute delight. You will love it.

Please sign this. Please.

Well duh. Surely?

"1% of the population own half the land in England...the media have portrayed a very distorted view of the countryside, how land is used & who owns it" Great to speak to @mrjamesob.bsky.social on @lbc.co.uk about the #ClarksonTax protests - watch the full interview: www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-kR...

If the farmers break the law tomorrow we better see the same response we see to Just Stop Oil. No two tier justice.

This is just wonderful, and deserves to be seen by more people

Exactly this
