Sir, you are literally in Congress -- checks, balances, do your damn job.

We tried to warn. And yet the press “fact checked” anyone who dared to say Trump was going to implement Project 2025—because he said he wouldn’t. Insane.

To recap, the Republican Party has opposed: -Paid sick leave -Paid family & medical leave -Universal childcare -Universal pre-K -Tax increases on corporations & the rich -The expanded Child Tax Credit -Student debt relief Doesn't sound like the party of the working class to me.

So Russia published Melania’s naked photos and then extorted her husband.

The Onion cooking as usual

Good on the Kennedy family to put out this statement. It couldn’t have been easy.

Sure, Kevin McCarthy may have humiliated himself for Trump. Yes, it took him 15 tries to become Speaker. And, of course, he had to beg the dumbest, most racist people in Congress to vote for him. But on the bright side, he ended up with absolutely nothing.

He’s literally standing around in his backwards hat looking at a bunch of migrants who’ve been rounded up and cheering the efforts of the border guards. Absolutely vile human being.

I want you to know, if you have a heart attack in this apartment while everyone else is out, I will probably not wait long to eat your face

office buddy

hey, I wrote a thing: "holy shit, the leopards are eating Kevin McCarthy’s face." you hate to see it. thanks for reading —

I just wrote about KOSA: A Nationwide Anti-Trans/LGBTQ+ Bill in All but Name. It has everything you need to know + how to contact your congressppl about it. 4min read, no-paywall link, please share & give it lots of "claps" (up to 50) so others see it! juliaserano.medium.com/kosa-a-natio...

Good news:

In news that will surprise absolutely no one (other than Elon Musk), a new study has found that if you allow hate speech on your platform, it makes your users think less of the companies who still advertise with you, harming their brands. www.techdirt.com/2023/09/14/n...

Can anyone explain why no SF drivers understand how to make a left turn?

Voters rejected their Supreme Court candidate. So Wisconsin Republicans schemed to reject elections.

I wrote about the backlash to 1619 and how conservatives who attacked it as propaganda are now imposing propaganda on public schools in an attempt to prevent anyone from coming to the conclusion that anti black racism is a problem. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Do it. Via Kyle Griffin: Sen. Elizabeth Warren says the Senate should investigate Elon Musk's alleged role in thwarting a Ukrainian drone from attacking Russia's naval fleet last year in the Black Sea.

Hollywood didn't want to offer a fair deal to one union and oops now they've created unprecedented union energy in their industry whoops

"Tell me again the story about the time you defeated those mean, old, air traffic controllers?"

Today's newsletter has a simple message: Elon Musk is a dangerous nation-state-level actor using his massive wealth and power to influence elections, wars, and markets. We must nationalize SpaceX and Starlink and put a stop to billionaire despots. tinyurl.com/wyat91323

Good stuff from @zitron.bsky.social. wheresyoured.at/p/elon-musk-...

Also drives me nuts that people like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg keep getting hit with pissant $3 and $5 million fines. We desperately need penalties rooted in the modern world that are big enough for billionaires to care about them.

I don’t get why Elon Musk is being treated with such kid gloves by regulators, between Ukraine and the horrifying child sexual abuse material issue on Twitter. Yes, money, but his companies would almost certainly be making much more of it if he was Rendered Unavailable and replaced.

One thing I really appreciate in Jill Lepore's review of "Elon Musk" is when she points out that he has zero fucking reading comprehension. www.newyorker.com/magazine/202...

hey, I wrote a thing: "hey Kevin: 'because fuck you, that’s why' is not a valid reason for an impeachment inquiry" — thanks for reading —

Ya think?

a lot about Elon Musk swims into focus when you realize he is a *central casting* rich white South African

BREAKING: Marvel VFX workers have just won a historic first union in the visual effects industry. The workers who power the biggest superhero movies on the planet voted unanimously to unionize with vfxunion. This is a major first step for the industry, and Disney is next.

Clarence Thomas ruled in favor of Citizens United. Harlan Crow and his family's political contributions then went up 862%. Then we later find out Thomas let Crow take him on lavish trips, buy his mom's house, and help fund his wife's conservative nonprofit. See how this works?

Phenomenal.
