Per poter dire quanto è valido un sondaggio devo sapere come è stato fatto e su chi. Su La7 danno metodologia e numeri (CATI/CAWI..., campione, non rispondenti, metodo di stima...), ci sono gli strumenti per valutare. Qua non si sa nulla, per me il valore è nullo.

I agree with you. If you do so, you are implicitly assuming a distance and that they are equally spaced. Either you assume it (so they are not ordinal categorical but numerical equally spaced), or you don't (therefore, the average is not meaningful).

Medicine doesn't, that's why you always compare the treatment effect with the placebo effect. But in order to be effective it's not sufficient to be as good as placebo, you must be better than placebo.
