CONFESSION: I'm not huge on Doom Eternal, due to it's insistence on precise hyper-twitchy movement & combat, which makes me more excited about Dark Ages since it seems to take more from the original games and 2016.

It's fixed. Turns out TrueNAS' bootloader shat the bed for no reason and I had to fix the bootloader by reinstalling TrueNAS and it preserved my config and everything, so it's all good. I'm now in a good mood.

Shame to hear about this. One of my favorite albums of all time (Biosphere - Substrata) sampled tons of dialogue from Twin Peaks. In fact, there's probably a lot of things I and others like that take heavy cues from Lynch's work. Au revoir, virtuoso.

I feel embarrassed by the games I've played this year because: A. I barely played anything due to summer depression, no motivation, time, etc B. I started buying some older stuff of GOG instead and privatizing the games I re-bought on GOG C. Why the fuck did I sink 8 hours into Phantom Fury?

As a kid/teen I used to bowl and play tennis/squash a lot. I wish I can do sports again. But hey, I also have an idea of a bowling game for funsies. A bowling roguelike. Balatro popularized the idea of roguelike poker, so maybe I want to make something ala Gutterball 3D but as a roguelike.

If there's anything I like about TGA 2024 it's both the Wukong devs saying the game isn't a souls-like/hard game and that it's easy peasy; and the Astro Bot devs saying platformers are cool after winning GOTY (also Japan Studio victory from beyond the grave) Good show.

Frustrated that Bluesky's "Hide this post for me" feature is per device only. I see an post that stresses me out, I hide it, then I open Bluesky on another device I have and the same post is on there until I click on it again, and so forth. Ugh.

I know this is old news and I'm very happy about that, but my only complaint is that personally the Internet Archive is very slow to download from (i.e. 200 kb/s) and honestly they should've at least re-listed it on GOG at the most.
