That line started with Yorktown, Enterprise came next and Hornet was the last one. It seems only fitting that Starfleet's Yorktown Class should start with these three.

I love that
I can see another bit of no one being able to pronounce the Ypsilanti correctly.
Having lived in Petoskey for seven years, I am partial to that name 🙂

For a bit more on Tireth and the R.R.W. Serrola, here's a Google Doc: 3/3

Tireth herself has gotten slight updates over the years (her original hair no longer has her hair color as an option, tweaked some sliders and updated uniform) The uniform update is an in-character thing, as she believed more in the Republic after a while. 2/3

I think I'm going to take a break from social media (including Bluesky) for a while. To everyone here, I hope you have as good of a day as possible.

How could the minorities that he and his party want to get rid of come out and vote for him. I fail to see how Harris was the worse option here. She's not perfect, but she's so much better than the party of hate. But I guess hate is what a bit over half of America wants. 3/4

without anyone to oppose them. I'm afraid to even go to work today. I genuinely do not understand how anyone could support a person who not only tolerates these things, but promotes them. How could people support a Felon, a transphobe, and a homophobe? 2/4

The ship has since been renamed to the USS Atlas, as the name is more fitting for the Odyssey Class (plus with the earlier launch, Virinat no longer made any sense). This Google Doc details her history.

Tobias' model turned out fantastic, and @pundus.art did a great job bringing it into the engine and making everything worked with the other Olympic variants. I'm very proud of the new Horizon and grateful to everyone who put so much skill and effort into bringing it to life in STO!

Ideally, when we add a new ship from a "classic" era to
Star Trek Online, our goal is to trick you into thinking it was always there with the other canon ships of that era, just off screen. One of the ways you do that is to get a pro like Tobias Richter to model it for you, and he sure delivered!

@scorpiondesign.bsky.social did some incredible work bringing this pastiche to life and threading the needle of honoring some elements of the original STO ship while also creating something that fits right in next to the Excelsior Refit and Oberth-class ships of the same era.

As for the "era" to choose, I felt like the classic film (TMP-STVI) era made a lot of sense given the shape of the original Horizon's nacelles, and I also felt like that was the style that would support a big glass sphere structure most easily given its Art Deco influence.

This was @scorpiondesign.bsky.social's first ship for STO and we definitely started them off with a challenge! While I had a lot of problems with the original Horizon's design, I knew we couldn't abandon the big glowing sphere, as that's central to the original ship's character.

The Normandy is so pretty. Probably my favorite non Star Wars / Star Trek sci-fi ship
