Bit of #TTRPG GMing advice for you; if you can get hold of an old computer Game Guide - like the Prima ones - for a genre similar to the campaign you're running you'll have a wealth of maps, encounters and adventures to use. I just got an old Warcraft one and that'll keep me in sessions for months.

Dammit I missed #screenshotsaturday like twice now, too busy assembling minis from my pile of shame. I do have saving working though, here's a projectile being quick-loaded which was pretty much the last entity type I did. #gamedev #indiedev

I'm still neck deep in save-loading busywork due to past poor design choices so I'll share a good idea for Screenshot Saturday instead: Setting up hot-loading is really easy in C (DLL/SO with GetProcAddress/dlopen). Like with saving, it's best to do it as early as possible in big projects. #gamedev

Loading saves is finally underway. I had to rethink how I was going to do this like three times in the past week and finally settled on serializing every entity into a .map-style plaintext entity lump and using it in place of the original lump when loading. #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #retrofps
