Supposedly a lot of game stores have like a notice board where groups/DMs can advertise for players. Also, I think my friends found a group through their local library at one point.

I did basically the same thing as an adult with adhd. I was forced to replace most of my wardrobe due to weight gain & just flat out refused to buy clothes that were itchy or whatever. If I knew it’d get passed over each day for comfier clothes, I didn’t buy it, even if I liked the way it looked.
