I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Mohamed. Mohamed was studying engineering before the war and him and his sister Asmaa (who is studying medicine) have been doing their studies online. He’s the oldest in his family and taking care of everyone including his sister Mayar, 11.

Ian Fleming's original James Bond novels haven't aged well. For example, Moonraker - published almost exactly 70 years ago in April 1955 - features a villain who's a super-rich industrialist and rocket-maker seeking to cause chaos because he's a secret Nazi. Such a silly idea!

Labour's plan to fix the UK economy is to buy some magic beans.

"Trump is the worst president ever because his policies affect me directly. The previous presidents killed people from countries I don't even know, so they weren't as bad". That seems to be the prevailing mentality here. And look, I fucking hate Trump. But I hate the previous guys just as much.

And yet-- today, we can't get Dems to meet Trump with that same energy.

A friend of mine produced this. So damn proud of him and excited for what's to come!

Psst! Pass it on!

Alfonso Cuarón’s Children of Men (2006) is set in a dystopian world where global infertility has plunged humanity into chaos. The UK remains a militarized state, scapegoating refugees and maintaining strict control. Amid despair, a woman’s miraculous pregnancy offers hope for humanity’s future.

coming this holiday season

DePalma & Scorsese look like they’re in an indie film about a washed up C&W singer who sells his soul to Satan for one last shot at stardom.

In a crushing blow to free speech, the University of Cambridge is asking a High Court for an injunction *through February 2030* to arrest anyone who protests on certain properties "in connection with Cambridge for Palestine or otherwise for a purpose connected with the Palestine-Israel Conflict."

I’m biased because I worked on A Thousand Blows as a historical consultant but it is spectacular! I hope it proves to the nay-sayers that historical drama is worth the expense of making and that the public will always crave it. www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio...

So do I. Alas.

"No, don't show his face, show his feet in shackles instead, no one is into that"

The student who ripped this sign down did more for trans people than most of our politicians.

Actually your government refusing to fund us and selling all our work to Silicon Valley's AI conmen is killing off the arts but go on

Lisa Nandy believes virtue signaling is ruining the arts, which is a quicker way of saying we shouldn't aspire to anything better in life, we shouldn't critique the cruel, the despotic, the greedy. To that, I would say, what is art without virtue?

Life imitates art…

this is a fascinating insight into starmerism; the actual meat of this piece is announcing an arts funding round, but they don't know how to articulate any type of positive vision for the future, so they instinctively punch left for no reason or benefit

Eternally this. It's the one thing I won't compromise on. If you cannot be kind, you cannot be in my life.

Oh I WILL be looking into this. Potentially, a treasure trove.

The dread I feel over my immediate future and our collective long term prospects has sapped my creative output to the core. This will be remedied and shall not persist.

I should get a badge for the amount of seperate things in my day to day, nightmare to nightmare life that freaked me out today. Approached a full blown meltdown and I don't even drink anymore. And I haven't even looked at the news today. Weee!

As I said earlier this week, fuck any cause that leaves anyone behind. Until the centrists fix their hearts and start standing up for the oppressed instead of jumping on the fascistic bandwagon and punching downwards, then they are an enemy to be defeated, along with the tyrannical right.

Yes, it is entirely correct to point out that ICE officers do not have any legal authority to break into somebody’s home unless they get a judicial warrant; which they generally cannot do, because judges only issue warrants for probable cause of crimes, not immigration law violations.
