The temptation to duck & cover & hope the attack passes over us can be strong. But ultimately, they'll come back around for all of us. They are out to destroy the American university, which they view as a threat. So we might as well stand up, speak out, & fight back while we still have the chance.

The thing that gets me is Jonathan Gruber and @simonhrjohnson.bsky.social lay out this great vision of government investment in science and resulting progress that can really increase quality of life in non-coastal cities.
