so far I think I like longer, heavier swords. Feels like they help my form and force my movement to be more composed

you physically cannot stop yourself if you swing hard, you have to step, so you get the timing down quick. Much easier to switch back to longsword and feel it out

I am becoming stronger(why did I do my hair before training)

I'm also struck by how much more "realistic" games like Soul Calibur are for approximating weapon combat. Siegfried's attack > stance > attack > stance flow comes to mind

I wonder how long before I look back at this like. Wow I can't believe it thought that was hard lmao

always something wrong. I'm off balance, my body rotated, I traded my stance for distance, I stepped before I cut, let my grip stiffen, dipped too low. It's like if a game made your fireball worse for every extra input and repeated frame in a 236 motion. Every attempt feels uniquely flawed

just the rhythm of practice is so nice step and swing, assess. Step and swing, assess. Pass and swing, asses. Pass and swing, assess. Again and again until I can't lift my arms
