Humans have always been creators. Caving paintings, tiny figures, carvings, ancient graffiti. We itch to create, yet capitalism and anti-cringe nonsense stifles people.

I think people have this assumption that niceness is for your benefit and not their’s. So they don’t reciprocate it unless they are getting something.
I think, just be nice, and it will bring people toward you who actually want people like you as friends. It’s the easier approach imo.

Is it possible that they were treated much worse on the bird app than here? I think that sometimes people just need to feel welcomed and respected before they will make themselves known. That is to say, if they approach social media that way. I wonder if they experienced ageism there.

Yes. The appalling news one after the other makes it harder to process or even express the bewilderment we all feel. As it is, most of us are hyper-empathetic, so even if things don’t always directly affect us, we can tell. We decry many of the same things that other oppressed people do.
