From his face, I'm not sure that's what he calls himself!

Methinks the eejit doth protest too much.

Any luck, it'll provide us with a handy block list.

I'm not arguing with that, I'm suggesting that experienced nurses already have the contextual experience to put the academic extras into context.

I worked with people in that role and they didn't seem to feel they had authority. Certainly GPs often didn't treat them as though they had.

Informally, yes - but without the recognition, authority, or pay.

Ok, you're gone.

I see we're moving inexorably towards patronising and possibly misogynistic gittery.

Anecdote isn't a substitute for wider knowledge.

I may be missing something but how is it senior nurses were not considered for this role? Bags of hands-on experience, often with post-qualification certificates and specialisms. An uplift career move for nurses and no need for biochemists with a 2 year 'how to do doctoring' course.

And it's coming along nicely. Very popular with cats, hedgehogs, and foxes. And the birds are beginning to take an interest too. So without knowing it, Him Over There has initiated a nature revolution in a previously neglected part of the garden. He'd hate it because it isn't a row of petunias. 😆

And my over-the-back-fence British neighbour here in good ol' Blighty has had a Trump flag flapping from a pole on his shed twice for a week at a time recently. I've been planting a small forest of rapid growers on my side so I don't have to see it. Foliage not Felons.

Grrr. This US administration is exhibiting the vindictiveness of jealous ignorance. Take what you can and leave for somewhere more accommodating until it's gone. Be refugees. We all need your science.

I've a cat like that, with the stuffing coming out!

I found the male interrupters often used the time to present their own work or competing hypothesis which presumably hadn't been accepted for the conference.

This is obscene.

I think you may be right. He has the insularity of power and wealth which allows him to behave this way and he's surrounded by people who either think it's ok or are too afraid of him to object. The GOP? Dear me. Self-interested enablers.

Undoubtedly, but as an adult - which would be a psychopathology, or as a child - which would be a phase associated with normal development whereby empathy isn't fully available. I don't see enough of him to make that distinction, although in practice it's probably just an academic question.
