lvra.gitlab.io this helped me a lot. I use envision with wivrn with my Meta quest 2 wirelessly. It's very usable. Not perfect but super usable. I'm on Linux mint.

I've heard Arch with a good WM is a good choice. Like wayfire or sway.

Depends on your use case. Fedora is generally a solid choice depending on your hardware. Arch is great too depending on pain tolerance. This is a difficult decision. Good luck!

I actually still have a photo. I have the original LCD so mileage may vary. It was a few screws and popping the back off if I remember correctly.

This was short sighted. Amazon or any electronics retailer. I say go to Amazon just so you can find what you're looking for easier.

Look up a hard drive upgrade video. Then go to Amazon and type in nvme to USB adapter.

You can pull the drive out and back it up utilizing a standard nvme to USB dock or enclosure. I know you may not know how to do it but someone you know might. I've done it a few times and I'm not terribly familiar. Can clone the drive

My Lenovo thinkpad does this and stores bios boot options. I have to go in and manually remove them.

Linux is like owning cats. Linux doesn't live with you. You live with Linux. You also occasionally have to scoop poop.
